CONDITIONS OF ENTRY

1 The Award

1.1 The Agendo Art Award for young emerging artists 2017 is a non-acquisitive award of $10,000 conducted by Camberwell Grammar School open to Australian residents.

1.2 Camberwell Grammar School reserves the right to purchase an entry selected for exhibition as an additional acquisitive award.

2 Entries

2.1 Media types accepted for Agendo include painting; works on paper; sculpture/object based; and new technologies.

2.2 Artists must be aged 35 or under at the date of submission of artworks.

2.3 An entrant may be required to provide the committee with proof of Australian citizenship or residency status.

2.4 An emerging artist is an artist who can demonstrate that he/she has not exhibited regularly in or through a leading commercial gallery.

2.5 Submitted artworks must be original works, executed by the artist whose name appears on the entry form and completed since 1 January 2016.

2.6 Artists must submit with the entry form:

2.7 Each image should be of good resolution (between 1500 and 2000 pixels on the long side) JPG or PNG digital file. All images must be a correct indication of how the art work should be hung or installed (orientation).

2.8 Image submissions should accurately record the artworks submitted. Intricate or complex works may be supported by detail studies. It is recommended that you employ a competent photographer to record your work to maximise your potential for selection in the exhibition.

2.9 Works requiring installation, projection and/or A/V equipment must clearly state needs for exhibition. All works on paper or canvas must be strung and ready to hang.

2.10 To assist the selection process it is recommended that artists submit a statement about their work.

2.12 Entries received after the closing date will not be accepted.

2.12 Entry support material can be returned at the conclusion of the exhibition. Please supply appropriate packaging materials if you want your support material returned.

2.13 Due to gallery restrictions work to be hung should not exceed 1.2 x 1.6 metres.

3 Closing Date for Entries

Entries must be received by 5pm on Friday 16 June 2017.

4 Pre-selection

4.1 From the images submitted the Pre-selection Committee will select the finalists who will then be required to submit their entries for the exhibition and final judging.

4.2 The successful and unsuccessful applicants will be notified by Friday 23 June by email.

4.3 Only the finalists’ work will feature in the exhibition with the winner being announced at the opening on Thursday 27 July.

4.4 Substitutes for works entered by the due date will not be accepted. This will be strictly adhered to.

5 Exhibition

5.1 The Sale Price of individual works must not exceed $5000. All entries must be available for sale at the Exhibition.

5.2 Commission of 25% on works sold.

5.3 Finalist’s work must arrive at the David Williams Gallery Camberwell Grammar School, 55 Mont Albert Road Canterbury Victoria by Friday 21 July 2017, between 10am - 4pm. Further details supplied upon notification.

5.4 Finalist’s work must be suitably prepared for display (framed if appropriate) and be labelled with the artist’s name, address and title of work.

5.5 Any works damaged in transit and/or without the appropriate arrangements for display, will not be presented for judging.

6 Judging

6.1 The panel of judges will comprise three independent selectors from the professional and academic visual arts sector.

6.2 The judging panel shall solely determine the prize-winning entry and the decision is final. No correspondence will be entered into.

7 Insurance

While all due care will be taken with art works, the Agendo Art Award will not be responsible for any loss or damage suffered to any work in its possession or under its control and by signing these conditions each entrant shall indemnify the Agendo Art Award against loss or damage suffered to art work. Works submitted will not be insured by the Agendo Art Award.

8 Freight

Entries will not be received by the Agendo Art Award unless free of charge. All freight will be prepaid and organised by the artist.

9 Reproduction of Works

Each entrant specifically permits and authorises the Agendo Art Award to reproduce his or her art work by print or electronic media for publicity purposes, reports, catalogues and any other publications related to the exhibition. Due attribution will be made to the artist.

10 Privacy

All personal information collected on this form will be used by the Agendo committee for the sole purpose of administering the 2017 Agendo Art Award and Exhibition.

11 Collection of Works

The exhibition will close on Wednesday 9th August 2017. Entries, other than sold works, are to be collected from the David Williams Gallery on Thursday 10th August or Friday 11 August betwwen 10am - 4pm.
