Overseas Inquiries – Enrolment information for overseas students

Families can apply directly to the Registrar’s Office at the school although it is usually easier to talk to one of our agents (listed below) in your local area who will plan an educational pathway from your home school to Camberwell Grammar School involving an interview, testing, application lodgement, visa advice and language school as well as homestay and guardianship.

VCE performance at Camberwell Grammar School has been particularly strong. The school is a member of The University of Melbourne Schools’ Partnership International (MSPI) which provides opportunities for students to visit the university campus and receive information about its programs through the school.

All overseas students, regardless of age, must have a local carer. While not providing boarding facilities, students entering Year 9 and above can live in a homestay organised through the school.

We only consider overseas students applying for Year 9 and above. We do not accept students who turn 20 years of age during their Year 12 studies. We do not consider overseas students who wish to transfer from another local school.

Fees and charges for overseas students can be found here.

Applicants are required to undertake tests of English proficiency and general ability. The standard test is that conducted by Australian Education Assessment Services (AEAS). Most students require a course of intensive English (ELICOS) and we can recommend and organise an appropriate language school such as Melbourne Language Centre. Fees for these courses are met by parents.

The Australian Government requires full-fee paying students to contribute to Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) which will help cover the costs of medical and hospital care needed in Australia. The school’s current provider is Medibank Private.
