One hundred and fifty four parents from both Camberwell Grammar School and Camberwell Girls Grammar School attended the online event. According to our Head of Parent Education, Mr John Allen, Dr Goodwin's address was informative and engaging as she guided parents as how best to be ‘the pilot not the passenger of the digital plane’.

Much of what Dr Goodwin discussed regarding the impact of technology on our lives applies as much to adult as it does to children and the ‘screenager’. The relationship between screen time and a lack of sleep was a particular concern.

Discussed also were the latest risks to children's online safety, as well as the health, social, physical, play and learning implications for young children growing up around screens. Dr Goodwin also shared how to calculate healthy screen-time limits and gave strategies to prevent tantrums and help children develop healthy technology habits.
