Ben joined Camberwell Grammar at the start of 2022 as Deputy Head/Head of Senior School. Prior to joining our community, Ben spent ten years at St Michael’s Grammar School, St Kilda, which included five years as Head of Senior School. He has also held leadership roles as Deputy Head of Senior School, Head of House and VCE Coordinator in other independent schools in Australia and spent two years teaching in England.
Ben considers himself a lifelong learner and enjoyed the challenge and perspective which came from his Master of Education, specialising in Education Leadership and Management, which followed his initial Bachelor of Education in Health and Physical Education and History.
As a leader, Ben strives to develop capacity in others, both staff and students, and to ensure that leadership decisions are student-centred and deliver positive outcomes to both academic and wellbeing aspects of education.
Outside school, Ben is an early starter each morning to begin the day with exercise such as heading out for a run. His family, including two primary-school aged children, share his love of sport and being active, with weekends filled with cricket, basketball, bike rides or kicking the footy at the local oval.
